The U Minh Ha National Park is one of Vietnam’s last remaining fragments of peat swamp forest and home to several globally threatened species. It is located in the Mekong River Delta - one of the largest river deltas in the world. Residents are allowed to make a living off U Minh Ha’s abundant resources within reason. This motivates locals to protect the area and take steps to prevent dangerous peatland fires.
